# PokeSprite Gallery > Public static image gallery for Pokemon sprites, item icons, badges, type icons, game-version sprite sets, artwork families, and local extras image folders. Base URL: https://pokesprite.tootaio.com Sitemap: https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sitemap.xml Robots: https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/robots.txt LLMs guide: https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/llms.txt Total image files: 74,269 Sitemap files listed in sitemap index: 3 ## What This Project Contains PokeSprite Gallery serves the `sprites/` directory from the PokeAPI sprite repository plus local extras image folders under `.pokesprite-gallery/extras/` as ordinary static files. It is an image host, not a sprite data or image transformation API: no token, dynamic image parameter, extra metadata file, or code change is required to retrieve an asset. The optional `/api/catalog` and `/api/extras` routes only list folders and image files for the homepage file browsers. The image tree includes default PokeAPI Pokemon sprites, back/female/shiny variants, game-generation-specific sprite sheets, official artwork, Pokemon HOME artwork, Dream World SVGs, Pokemon Showdown GIFs, item icons, badge icons, type icons, and local extras images such as Pokemon Pokopia habitat and item folders. ## Direct Asset Access Use sitemap URLs exactly when possible. Every image is a normal static file under `/sprites/` or `/extras/` and can be requested directly with GET or HEAD. There are no shortened aliases such as `/pokemon/...` or `/items/...`; the public URL after `/sprites/` or `/extras/` is the same relative path used inside the repository or extras folder. Examples: - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sprites/pokemon/25.png - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sprites/pokemon/shiny/25.png - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sprites/pokemon/other/official-artwork/25.png - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sprites/pokemon/other/home/25.png - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sprites/pokemon/other/showdown/25.gif - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sprites/items/poke-ball.png - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/sprites/badges/1.png - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/extras/pokopia-habitats/001.png - https://pokesprite.tootaio.com/extras/pokopia-items/abandoned-power-plant-kit.png ## Public Route Map - `/`: human-readable gallery homepage with a URL previewer, file-browser-style catalog, and path reference. - `/sprites/...`: direct static image files from the repository's `sprites/` tree. - `/extras/{folder}/...`: direct static extras images from `.pokesprite-gallery/extras/`; uploaded folders are available without code changes. - `/pokopia/habitats/{habitat}.png`: legacy alias for `/extras/pokopia-habitats/{habitat}.png`. - `/pokopia/items/{item}.png`: legacy alias for `/extras/pokopia-items/{item}.png`. - `/api/catalog?path=...`: read-only JSON listing for browsing folders and image files under `sprites/`; accepts an optional `q` search parameter. - `/api/extras?path=...`: read-only JSON listing for browsing folders and image files under `.pokesprite-gallery/extras/`; accepts an optional `q` search parameter. - `/api/pokopia/habitats`: legacy read-only JSON listing for the Pokopia habitats folder; derived directly from files. - `/api/pokopia/items`: legacy read-only JSON listing for the Pokopia items folder; derived directly from files. - `/sitemap.xml`: sitemap index. - `/sitemaps/sitemap-pages.xml`: homepage and metadata URLs. - `/sitemaps/sitemap-images-{n}.xml`: sharded image URL lists. - `/llms.txt`: this generated AI/indexer guide. - `/robots.txt`: crawler policy that points to the sitemap index. ## Path Rules - PokeAPI sprite asset URLs begin with `/sprites/`. - Local extras image URLs begin with `/extras/` and preserve the folder path under `.pokesprite-gallery/extras/`. - Numeric Pokemon filenames usually map to National Pokedex IDs; alternate forms may use extended numeric IDs or descriptive suffixes. - Item filenames are lowercase slugs such as `poke-ball.png`, sometimes with suffixes such as `--bag`, `--held`, colors, or version names. - Not every variant exists for every Pokemon, item, game, or type set. Static-hosting headers and the bundled Node server send `Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *` and `Cross-Origin-Resource-Policy: cross-origin` for `/sprites/*`, `/extras/*`, `/pokopia/habitats/*`, and `/pokopia/items/*`, so applications such as `https://pokopia.tootaio.com` can fetch or draw these images without same-origin restrictions. ## Asset Summary Top-level sprite sections: badges=77, items=2,035, pokemon=58,735, pokopia-habitats=212, pokopia-items=1,389, serebii-pokopia-items=11,353, types=468 File extensions: gif=10,304, png=62,819, svg=1,146 ## AI Usage Notes - Prefer sitemap URLs over guessing paths. - Preserve the original file path when citing or storing an asset reference. - Numeric Pokemon paths generally use National Pokedex IDs; form and variant files may use extended IDs or descriptive suffixes. - Do not invent missing variant URLs. Check the sitemap or request the candidate URL with HEAD first. - Treat images as public static assets. There is no API token, dynamic image query parameter, separate metadata dependency, or required code change for new extras folders; `/api/catalog`, `/api/extras`, `/api/pokopia/habitats`, and `/api/pokopia/items` are only read-only discovery helpers.
